Sleep Lounge P&O
P&O Ferries is expanding its range of onboard travel options with the introduction of a new Sleep Lounge on its popular North Sea route between Hull and Rotterdam. Designed to provide passengers with greater flexibility and comfort during overnight sailings, the new facility will be available on crossings from 13 July and aims to offer an alternative to traditional cabin accommodation.
The Sleep Lounge will feature 36 specially designed Sleep Recliner seats located within a dedicated lounge area. Created with overnight travellers in mind, the space offers passengers a comfortable environment in which to relax and rest during the crossing. Each customer using the Sleep Lounge will receive a complimentary blanket for added comfort, while USB charging points at every seat will allow travellers to keep their devices powered throughout the journey. Lockers will also be available for larger items, helping passengers make the most of the lounge space without the inconvenience of carrying luggage around the ship.

While the Sleep Lounge provides a new way to travel overnight, passengers will still have access to the full range of onboard facilities and services available on P&O Ferries’ North Sea vessels. Guests can enjoy meals and refreshments in the ship’s restaurants and bars, visit the onboard coffee shop, browse World Duty Free stores, and take advantage of the entertainment options available throughout the crossing. The addition of the Sleep Lounge complements the ferry operator’s existing cabin offering, giving customers more choice when deciding how they would like to travel.
Louisa Bell, Chief Commercial Officer, Passenger at P&O Ferries, said the new facility reflects the company’s commitment to providing travel options that suit a variety of passenger needs and budgets.
“Every journey is different, and we want customers to have the choice of options that work best for them,” she said. “Whether they are travelling with friends, heading away for a short break or starting a longer trip into Europe, the Sleep Lounge is another way to make the crossing while experiencing the atmosphere and facilities that come with travelling by ferry.”
The introduction of the Sleep Lounge also provides an attractive option for travellers seeking a more affordable overnight crossing. Off-peak fares for foot passengers travelling between October and December will start from £47 per person each way. For those travelling with a vehicle, prices begin at £121 for one car, one passenger and one Sleep Recliner seat during selected travel periods, offering a cost-effective alternative to cabin accommodation.
The launch forms part of P&O Ferries’ wider strategy to enhance the customer experience on its Hull–Rotterdam service and broaden the range of travel choices available to passengers. By introducing the Sleep Lounge, the operator is catering to customers who value both comfort and flexibility, while maintaining access to the social atmosphere and amenities that make ferry travel a popular choice. The new addition further strengthens P&O Ferries’ commitment to meeting evolving passenger expectations and delivering a variety of travel experiences on one of its key North Sea routes.
