Conference Cumbria 2026 Announces Steve Randles To Join Expert Business Panel
Cumbria Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce Steve Randles, Head of Delivery at Brathay Trust, as the first confirmed panellist for Conference Cumbria 2026, bringing more than 25 years of leadership and education experience to this year’s event.
Taking place on Thursday 1 October 2026 at the Pencil Factory in Keswick, Conference Cumbria will once again bring together hundreds of business leaders, entrepreneurs and decision-makers from across the county for a day focused on bold thinking, fresh perspectives and meaningful connections.
Steve has spent over 25 years working across the education sector in roles including practitioner, teacher, head of centre and senior leadership. Throughout his career, he has championed environments where people feel empowered to take smart risks, challenge the status quo and speak openly.
As a member of the Conference Cumbria expert panel, Steve will share his perspectives on leadership, resilience and the importance of creating cultures where innovation and courageous thinking can thrive.
The announcement is another exciting addition to Conference Cumbria 2026, which this year carries the theme “Be Bold. Be Courageous.”
Steve believes the best outcomes rarely come from playing it safe, but instead emerge through diverse perspectives, honest conversations and a willingness to try something new. His focus on helping people and organisations move forward with intent, clarity and confidence aligns closely with the conference’s mission to inspire bold action across Cumbria’s business community.
Lesley Robinson, Head of Business Growth & Support at Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Steve Randles to our expert panel at Conference Cumbria 2026. His extensive leadership experience and commitment to empowering others make him a fantastic addition to the programme.
“Steve’s belief that courage is often found in supporting others to believe in their ideas and persevere through challenges reflects exactly what this year’s ‘Be Bold. Be Courageous.’ theme is all about. We’re looking forward to the insight and perspective he’ll bring to the discussion.”
Steve Randles, Head of Delivery at the Brathay Trust, said: “I’m delighted to be part of Conference Cumbria 2026 and to join a panel focused on what it really means to lead with courage. The most meaningful progress happens when we’re willing to step outside our comfort zones, listen to different perspectives and create environments where people feel safe to challenge, contribute and grow. I’m looking forward to sharing insights and learning from others who are equally committed to building confident, resilient organisations across Cumbria.”
Conference Cumbria has grown significantly over recent years and now attracts delegates from across Cumbria and beyond, with ambitions to welcome up to 350 attendees in 2026.
This year’s event will feature headline speaker Sir Clive Woodward alongside a growing programme of inspiring speakers, panel discussions and networking opportunities designed to support business growth, leadership and innovation.
Recent speaker announcements have also included Lou Kneath and Sara Murray, further strengthening what promises to be one of the county’s most inspiring business events.
A limited number of sponsorship opportunities and tickets remain available for businesses looking to align themselves with one of the region’s most prominent business events.
